It is funny how some things work out so nicely. Over the last couple weeks, I have been working on this blog article in my minimal spare time. I feel very blessed to be in a field that I am really passionate about, and I feel fortunate to work with so many forward thinking clients. Recently I came across a song that shares the same ideals (and title of this post) that I have when it comes to my vocation: Work because you love it, rather than for a paycheck.
Then, earlier this week our friends at Master Plan sent over a video entitled How Great Leaders Inspire Action. The video is on the popular TED website which is filled with so many excellent presentations. It would be easy to spend a few days browsing the site, and you would be hard pressed to not feel inspired by many of the presentations.
After watching the video, I decided to scrap what I had written for this article, as the video projects what I was trying to convey, and then some. If you run your own business or work in marketing, I would strongly recommend you grab a cup of coffee, and take the 20 minutes to watch this video.
If you hire people just because they can do a job, they’ll work for your money. But if you hire people who believe what you believe, they’ll work for you with blood and sweat and tears.
